Theme and Variations for a Neural Network
The neural network that drives this piece was created to transcribe audio recordings of piano performance to MIDI. It was trained on a small dataset of classical piano pieces recorded in studio conditions. This piece explores the misapplication of this model on a melody played in different recording conditions, on different instruments, and with different transcription parameters.
